JJ Henry holed an eagle for the third straight day to lead the Reno-Tahoe Open ahead of Sunday's final round.
Using the modified Stableford scoring system, the American picked up 14 points in the third round to take his tally to 36, three points ahead of Brazilian Alexandre Rocha.
Henry mixed five birdies and a bogey to go with his eagle at the Montreux G&CC in Nevada on Saturday.
Compatriot John Mallinger is four points behind Henry while Argentine Andreas Romero is five points adrift.
Overnight leader Rocha hit five birdies and a bogey to increase his tally by nine points in the third round.
Americans John Daly and Justin Leonard are among a large group of players within striking distance, eight and 10 points back respectively.
Stuart Appleby is the best of the Australians on 19 points after picking up 10 in the third round while Rod Pampling is next best on 14, five of which he earned in the third round.
Under the modified system, players receive five points for an eagle and two for a birdie, while dropping one point for a bogey and three for a double-bogey or worse.
