More than 50 Crown Lager Social Golf Club members took on Commonwealth Golf Club's championship layout on Monday in Melbourne.

Former host to a Men's Australian Open and two Women's Australian Opens, the sandbelt layout proved a true test for the CLSGC members who enjoyed the company of Kangaroos forward Drew Petrie and Geelong speedster Shannon Byrnes.

Peter Brown, who won the day's competition, said it was a thrill to play on Melbourne's sandbelt.

“Thanks to Crown Lager and Golf Australia for the opportunity to play at such a great course. It was a superb day and can’t wait for the next one to come around," Brown said.

The Crown Lager Social Golf Club offers members the opportunity to play on some of Australia's finest golf courses in exclusive member days.

Beaumaris CLSGC member Gary said “It was fantastic day and really well hosted. It was great to play on Commonwealth. What a course! Was great fun taking on my mates at CLSGC on Monday."
